Mike Ferguson

Probably the most enigmatic person in the initial Charlatans (the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA ’60s band of this name, not the greater famous later on British one), pianist Mike Ferguson appears an excellent decade roughly more than his bandmates in mid-’60s photos. It had been he who was simply most in charge of the barrelhouse blues/saloon experience of a lot of their materials as noticed on the only real solitary they released while he is at the group, “The Darkness Has learned”/”32-20.” Luckily, a lot more recordings which he takes on survive, a few of which were released around the 1996 compilation The Amazing Charlatans. George Hunter from the Charlatans recalled that he fulfilled Ferguson with an unemployment collection and understood him from Ferguson’s Magic Theatre for Madmen Just shop. He wasn’t wholly dependable for arriving to gigs and rehearsals and was changed by Pat Gogerty around past due 1967. Ferguson after that played piano, published some materials, and sometimes sang on Tongue & Groove’s self-titled past due-’60s recording, which sounded rather just like a less-freaky Charlatans with a female lead vocalist (Lynne Hughes, who certainly had occasionally performed using the Charlatans). Ferguson passed away about a 10 years later.
