Vibraphonist Michael Ortega had been a renowned manufacturer in the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay Region when he made a decision to write and record his initial solo album. Beginning in 1976 after conference Roy Ayers at a San Jose concert, Ortega (a chef at that time) was used under Ayers’ wing and trained jazz by his brand-new mentor.
