Vibraphonist Michael Ortega had been a renowned manufacturer in the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay Region when he made a decision to write and record his initial solo album. Beginning in 1976 after conference Roy Ayers at a San Jose concert, Ortega (a chef at that time) was used under Ayers’ wing and trained jazz by his brand-new mentor. Ayers also helped him purchase his initial vibes, schooling the willing musician on the many areas of the device. Ortega begun to feel tied to having less suitable amplification for the vibes, and shortly began helping using the advancement of a vibraphone synthesizer user interface. These efforts resulted in the creation of MIDI, a pc program that significantly changed just how music was performed and documented.
