Mary Pearson

Mary Pearson made a solid impression with her saving debut from 2000, You and We, which teamed her with pianists Lynne Arriale and Fred Hersch. Pearson started her career performing almost anything but jazz in a marriage band with piano pubs, including folk music and cabaret. In 1975 she understood that her method of improvising was jazz, and she dug deeper in to the jazz repertoire. Her initial main jazz engagement was on the Surfmaid in NY, sitting along with pianist Claude Garvey and sometimes Fred Hersch. In the first ’80s she produced her very own group. In 1984 she begun to figure out how to play piano, and by 1986 was confident more than enough to are a vocalist/pianist. Because the middle-’80s, Mary Pearson spent some time working regularly in the brand new York area. A few of her most significant musical associations have already been with Dr. Billy Taylor, Harvie Swartz, Lynne Arriale, the Diva music group, Claire Daly, John Hart, and George Gee’s Make-Believe Ballroom Orchestra. She also whistles on advertisements and writes children’s musicals.
