Marina Rebeka

Just 2 yrs after graduating from the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, soprano Marina Rebeka gave a breakout performance that quickly resulted in engagements on lots of the world’s best-known opera stages. Rebeka started her music research in her indigenous Latvia before carrying on in Rome, where she finished her formal research in 2007. Her professional debut was that same season, playing Contessa di Folleville and Madama Cortese in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims. International viewers started to focus on Rebeka when she performed Britten’s Battle Requiem using the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in 2008. However, it had been at this year’s 2009 Salzburg Celebration, where she actually scored critical achievement with Riccardo Muti performing Rossini’s Moïse et Pharaon, where Rebeka impressively performed Anaï. This is soon accompanied by debuts at La Scala (Il viaggio a Reims); in the Deutsche Oper Belin under Roberto Abbado (Mozart’s Don Giovanni); in the Royal Opera Home Covent Backyard (Verdi’s La Traviata); in Valencia under Zubin Mehta (Bizet’s Carmen); and in 2011, both at New York’s Metropolitan Opera (Don Giovanni) and Carnegie Hall (Moïse et Pharaon). Her opera debuts continuing for another year or two, while she also required on some recital shows and festival looks. In 2012, she came back towards the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia to sing in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle under Antonio Pappano. The documenting of the, released in 2013 by EMI, was Rebeka’s 1st. Just a few weeks later, her 1st solo documenting — Mozart: Arias — was also released by EMI. Viewers and critics have already been impressed not only by the characteristics of her tone of voice, but also by her characterizations.
