Claude Dubois

French-Canadian vocalist/songwriter Claude Dubois was created in Montreal on Apr 24, 1947. He started performing publicly as soon as age group 12, playing in an area country music group. Dubois produced his saving debut using the group Claude Dubois et Ses Montagnards. His single debut came a short while later, offering the melody “J’Ai Souvenir Encore,” which gained the young writer the esteemed Jury Prize in the Celebration du Disque. By 1966, Dubois was writing the stage with French-Canadian superstars like Donald Lautrec and Gilles Vigneault. Many years of worldwide touring would follow, including several appearances on essential French stages, several radio and tv performances, and some performances on his indigenous earth at La Comédie-Canadienne. On the effectiveness of music like “Femme de Reve” and “Bebe Jajou Latoune,” his record Touchez Dubois became a nationwide hit using a long lasting presence through the entire early ’70s. His important record Mellow Reggae helped to popularize Western world Indian music — a longtime Dubois interest — throughout Canada. His involvement in Luc Plamondon’s pop opera Starmania gained him a Felix Prize in 1979 and presented him to viewers formerly not really acquainted with his music. After a stint in rehab in 1981, Dubois released his discovery record, Sortie, which continued to market over 200,000 copies. With a massive catalog released by himself Pingouin label, Dubois has generated himself as you of France Canada’s esteemed rebellious, alternative voices. His 2007 discharge, Duos Dubois, features duets with a few of Canada’s most important recording performers, and strike the country’s Best Five.
