Linda Scott

American pop singer Linda Scott received her initial big break when she earned an audition to become regular in Arthur Godfrey’s hit CBS radio show in 1959. Blessed Linda Pleasure Sampson in Queens, NY, the youthful New Jersey-based vocalist soon agreed upon with Epic Information and produced her documenting debut using the one “In-Between Teenager” while still a high-school teen herself. An alternative deal, this time around with upstart label Canadian-American Information, followed and shortly the 16-year-old struck silver using the Oscar Hammerstein II and Jerome Kern regular “I’ve Informed Every Little Superstar,” which she released beneath the stage name Linda Scott. The record, which Scott created, marketed a million copies in 1961, getting her a precious metal record. That same calendar year, she charted two even more strikes with “I HAVE NO IDEA Why” and “Don’t Wager Cash, Honey,” which, alongside “I’ve Informed Every Little Superstar” would become her most effective songs. Dealing with both Canadian-American and their brand-new subsidiary Congress Information, Scott continuing to record, showing up within the Chubby Checker film Don’t Knock the Twist using the melody “Yesiree.” She’d only chart once more in her short career using the Hal David and Burt Bacharach melody “Who’s Been Sleeping in my own Bed” in 1964. By 1965, Scott was co-hosting the rock and roll television show Where in fact the Action Has been Steve Alaimo and would just issue a small number of extra tracks, ending using the 1967 RCA one “THEY DON’T REALLY Find out You.” She remained within the music business for a couple more years operating mostly like a support vocalist just before retiring in the first ’70s to go after research in theology.
