Kelly Russell

A multi-instrumentalist, record maker, music instructor, and ethnomusicologist, Kelly Russell has helped to create the music of Newfoundland towards the international stage. A founding person in Figgy Duff, Russell has truly gone to perform with the beautiful Grand Music group, an organization that mixed traditional folk music and humor, the Plankerdown Music group and its own offshoot, the Planks. Russell in addition has toured with past due fiddlers Rufus Guinchard and Emile Benoit and a trio, Russell, Joyce, and O’Byrne that he distributed to Jin Joyce and ex-Ryan’s Luxury member Fergus O’Byrne.
