An extremely respected instructor, theorist, and writer, Jerry Coker’s early profession was spent taking part in in such big rings as Woody Herman’s. He interrupted his research at Indiana University or college to become listed on Herman in past due 1953, after that toured with him before summertime of 1954. He produced some recordings in Paris and SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA as a head, so when a sideman with Mel Lewis in the past due ’50s; then became a freelance participant for the Western world Coast.
