Like many a budding singer/songwriter, British folksinger James Raynard found the genre with the music of Bob Dylan. The self-taught guitarist examined folklore at Sheffield School and used the fiddle, ultimately developing a romantic relationship with United kingdom folk star Martin Carthy. He started playing and performing at celebrations, where he captured the ears of 1 Small Indian’s folk imprint, Unearthed. He agreed upon using the label in 2004, launching his debut, Unusual Histories, in Sept of the next year.
