Ishigaki Seizan

Ishigaki Seizan is normally something of a global ambassador for Japan music as well as the shakuhachi, despite having began in life schooling to be a power engineer. Using the backing from the Japan Base he offers toured across the world, including European countries, america, the previous Soviet Union, the Mideast, and Southeast Asia. He’s a master from the Tozan design of shakuhachi and continues to be awarded frequent awards including a precious metal prize in the Tozan Style Shakuhachi Honkyoku competition in 1976, 1st prize through the Minister of Education in 1982, an arts event prize through the Company of Cultural Affairs in 1987, as well as the Tozan Reward for this design in 1988. He continues to be publishing CDs because the past due ’80s aswell.
