Gene Terry was created Terry Gene DeRouen in Lafayette, LA, but raised in Interface Arthur, TX, where his primary musical influence developing up was his dad and grandfather executing Cajun music. He produced his first music group, the Kool Kats, in the middle-’50s, doing nation & western music — they gravitated toward rock and roll & move and transformed their name towards the Downbeats, plus some of their early edges arrived on Savoy Information. After a short foray into rockabilly through Starday Information with “This Girl I REALLY LIKE” in 1957, his afterwards edges arrived on Goldband Information. His most effective record was “Cindy Lou.”
