Euclid Quartet

Founded in 1998 in Cleveland, OH, the Euclid Quartet took its name from Euclid Avenue, the positioning of Severance Hall and additional cultural landmarks in the town. Originally created by violinists Jameson Cooper and Jacob Murphy, who have been close friends at Kent Condition University or college, the quartet included violist Luis Enrique Vargas, and cellist Amy Joseph, who was simply later been successful by David Beem, after that by Si-Yan Darren Li. The ensemble quickly increased to prominence by earning the Hugo Kauder International Competition for String Quartets, the Carmel Chamber Music Competition, as well as the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition. With users hailing from THE UK, america, Venezuela, and China, the Euclid offers prided itself on its social diversity and personality, and each participant has lent a unique character towards the quartet’s audio. In 2007, the Euclid Quartet was called quartet in home at Indiana School, where each musician shows personal lessons and instructors chamber ensembles. After documenting the string quartets of Hugo Kauder for Centaur Information, the Euclid Quartet embarked on the task to record the six string quartets of Béla Bartók in the Artek label.
