Linking the dots between Krautrock, ambient, Berlin-era Bowie, and dance culture via London’s Docklands, producer and artist East India Youth (aka William Doyle) first found prominence in 2012 after handing a demo to John Doran — among the editors from the esoteric U.K. on-line music website The Quietus — at a gig. Doyle’s complex and awe-inspiring seems prompted the web site to create their personal label release a his materials. Hailing from Bournemouth, U.K., Doyle’s musical recent was located in an indie music group known as Doyle & the Fourfathers. Self-described like a “tweedy” group, Doyle became uninspired by acoustic guitar music and discovered inspiration from digital and dance tradition.
