Linking the dots between Krautrock, ambient, Berlin-era Bowie, and dance culture via London’s Docklands, producer and artist East India Youth (aka William Doyle) first found prominence in 2012 after handing a demo to John Doran — among the editors from the esoteric U.K. on-line music website The Quietus — at a gig. Doyle’s complex and awe-inspiring seems prompted the web site to create their personal label release a his materials. Hailing from Bournemouth, U.K., Doyle’s musical recent was located in an indie music group known as Doyle & the Fourfathers. Self-described like a “tweedy” group, Doyle became uninspired by acoustic guitar music and discovered inspiration from digital and dance tradition. He subsequently stop the group and began focus on his personal sketches and demos. In 2013, he released the Hostel EP via the Quietus Phonographic Company to crucial acclaim.
