Dave Wilkins

Wilkins used vocalist Una Mae Carlisle and pianist Fatty acids Waller, amongst others. He discovered to try out in Salvation Military rings in his indigenous Barbados. He initial noticed jazz via American information and on the air in Trinidad, where he transferred in 1935. Wilkins transferred to London in 1937 and became a member of Ken “Snake Sides” Johnson’s Western world Indian Swing Music group. He also used English musicians. IN-MAY 1938, he supported Carlisle on the program in London for the Vocalion label; the shows also included his fellow Western world Indian Bertie Ruler on clarinet and tenor sax. Wilkins documented with Waller afterwards that calendar year. Wilkins caused Johnson until 1941, after that with such British market leaders as Ted Heath, Harry Parry, and Joe Daniels. Wilkins’ workload reduced in old age; he ended playing entirely in the ’70s.
