Donn Stroud

Donn Stroud, a guy of divergent music taste and equipped with a fresh world politics attitude that exercises and transposes categorical pigeon-holing, was raised in the humble city of Poor Axe, MI. Using a need to broaden his horizons, he tripped for Ypsilanti in the middle-’90s and dropped further and additional into a lifestyle of squatting within an unoccupied house and a near abusive foray into trucker rate. While doing work for a big record string, Stroud started banging on distorted guitars in impromptu sound/punk/ska combos. As he gradually started an ascent from his self-depreciating way of living, he exchanged his fascination with convenience store chemicals for a pastime in Derek Bailey and Albert Ayler compositions. Which provides led him, nearly inexplicably, to creating ambient computer-driven parts that tow a range between Tangerine Fantasy, Biosphere, and Fennesz. Stroud released 2 EP’s in 2002: Guilty Tenderness and Delicate Prophecy (beneath the ominous moniker Delicate). Both released with the fledging house spun Ypsilanti United imprint.
