Daby Touré

b. c. 1970, Djeole, Boutilimit, Mauritania. The kid of the itinerant musician, Hamidou Touré, Daby spent his early lifestyle in Senegal and Mauritania. In 1989, today in his past due teens he followed his dad to Paris, France, where Hamidou was signing up for his brothers’ music group Touré Kunda. This prompted Daby to also select a profession in music and using a cousin, Omar Touré, he produced Touré Touré. Basing his music in the original noises of his homeland, Touré, who writes lots of the music he sings, created interesting variants that accommodated his musical environment in Paris. He toured with Peter Gabriel’s Still Developing Up bundle, including visiting Britain and 2004’s WOMAD in Reading. Touré sings in French and British as well such as Wolof, Soninké and Pulaar. Using multi-tracking, on his recordings he has electric guitar and bass aswell as many percussion musical instruments, while his key pad player is certainly Cyrille Dufay. A very pleased bearer of his musical traditions, Touré provides helped spread understanding to European viewers.
