Former pupil of Turíbio Santos and circumstances School of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) music graduate, Maria do Céu joined up with in 1984 Santos’ Orquestra de Violões do Rio de Janeiro (Electric guitar Orchestra). As an associate of Santos’ Quinteto Clássico, perform Céu opened up the Totally free Jazz Celebration of São Paulo in 1986. Having also became a member of the Água de Vintém (1989), she performed music by Chiquinha Gonzaga within a tribute to the feminine composer/conductor/pianist. In 2000, perform Céu released his first single Compact disc with compositions by Francisco Soares de Souza, fruits of her analysis work. Perform Céu also offers performed using the Samburá Trio, which include Juliano Barbosa (bassoon) and Di Lutgardes (percussion).
