Clarion

Composed of Clare Davis (fiddle), sibling Fred Davis (guitar), Alison Dynes (vocals), Mat Davies (bass) and Edd Frost (drums), Clarion was produced at the convert from the 90s as an acoustic British roots group located in Oxford, Oxfordshire. Their purpose was to construct on traditional resources but add the dynamism of rock and roll/roots bands like the Whisky Priests or Oyster Music group. Performances including one at Fairport Convention’s annual Cropredy event acquired gained them many important supporters with the development of their debut record in 1995. The hold off was due to their insistence on ‘obtaining everything correct’, a choice which reaped benefits as they continuing to tour broadly through the entire UK to get the album.
