Carlos Catalan

As lead vocalist for Zeus, Los Sobrinos del Sol, and Industria del Amor, Carlos Catalan helped to transform Southern California right into a bastion for Mexican pop balladry. Performing like a soloist since 1995, Catalan offers continued to impact the advancement of Mexican music along with his warm, baritone vocals. Catalan 1st attracted interest, in 1993, when he changed business lead vocalist Mario Godinez in Zeus. His initial single using the group, “Valentina,” was selected as the name song of a favorite tele-novela offering Veronica Castro. Zeus was getting ready to discharge their initial record with Catalan, whenever a Mexican music group effectively challenged their ownership from the name plus they had been forced to improve their name to Los Sobrinos del Sol. Changing Roberto Verdusco as business lead vocalist of Industria del Amor in springtime 1994, Catalan supplied the key towards the Oxnard, CA-based band’s achievement. Along with his vocals placing the speed, the group have scored a major strike with their recording A Capa con Espada, including such charting singles as “Dos Enamorados,” “No Te Imaginas,” “Cuando El Amor Se Va,” as well as the name track. Catalan’s participation with Industria del Amor was short-lived, nevertheless, as the group disbanded soon after the album’s launch. Although he contemplated time for Los Sobrinos del Sol, his previously decision to keep the music group had so annoyed their administration that he was avoided from reuniting along with his previous bandmates. Starting a solo profession instead, he authorized a recording agreement with Disa International. His debut single recording, Loco de Amor, premiered in Oct 1995.
