Bobby Scott

Though he still left performing for composing by the end from the ’50s and stayed apart a long time before returning, Bobby Scott made some entertaining, delightful music. He was an excellent pianist, effective vocalist, and above typical vibist. Scott also performed accordion, bass, cello, and clarinet. He examined on the La Follette College of Music in NEW YORK in 1945 with Edvard Moritz, a previous Debussy pupil as a kid, and was a specialist at 11. He was using Louis Prima and vacationing with veteran music artists at 15. Scott caused Gene Krupa and Tony Scott (unrelated) in the middle-’50s, and acquired a pop hit along with his edition of “String Gang.” Scott proved helpful on the Cafe Bohemia, and made an appearance at the fantastic South Bay Jazz Festival in 1958 and the brand new Haven Festival of Arts in 1959. Then became a instructor of theory and tranquility and resumed his research with Moritz. But Scott steadily returned to executing and documenting. His final record, the Nat Ruler Cole tribute For Sentimental Factors, was documented in 1989 and released in 1990, the same calendar year that Scott passed away of lung cancers at age 53. Scott documented as a head for Verve, ABC-Paramount, Bethlehem, and Musicmasters.
