Black Tie Revue

Produced in 2003 by Pittsburgh natives and friends Anthony Badamo and Ian Glinka, Dark Tie Revue acquired a number of lineup shifts (especially in the drumming department, where they noticed a minimum of five different players before they released their initial EP), although core lineup — singer/guitarist Badamo, bassist Matthew Hanzes, and guitarist John-Paul McCormick (who originally performed keyboards); Glinka still left to be able to pursue a profession with the nationwide Democratic Party — do manage to stay the same. Following the departure of Glinka in 2004, Jesse Ley became a member of Black Link Revue on keyboards (prompting McCormick’s move) as well as the music group (at this time with drummer Jackie Robin), who, making use of their combination of Ramonesy chord framework and Vehicles- and Big Star-inspired melodies, have been creating a hype for themselves within their indigenous city, made a decision to self-release their three-song EP Presenting in early 2005. This is enough to have them over the docket for the SXSW Celebration in Austin, despite too little label support. Though BTR acquired plans for the full-length release afterwards that year, even more drumming changes, and also a putting your signature on to Gearhead, postponed that, and it wasn’t until springtime of 2007, with Paul Felty over the package, that their debut record, Code Fun, which included all the music off their EP plus seven brand-new ones, arrived.
