Black Marble

Inspired by early-’80s synth pop, cold and darkwave, as well as the mighty bass playing of New Order’s Peter Hook, Dark Marble shaped as an outlet for the musical ideas of Chris Stewart. Teaming with ex-Team Robespierre member Ty Kube, the Brooklyn duo documented a five-song EP, Pounds Against the entranceway, for the Seattle label Barely Artwork in 2012. They implemented it up the same season using their debut record, the moody and darkly melodic A Different Agreement. It became the only record the duo created together, as over time of mental and physical changeover, Kube remaining and Stewart relocated to the Western Coast to start out over. The lengthy break ended using the launch of It’s Immaterial in past due 2016. The recording premiered by Ghostly International and presented Stewart composing and recording the complete thing himself.
