Big Walnuts Yonder

A collaboration between 4 celebrated figures in the independent music community, Big Walnuts Yonder is a gathering of the thoughts featuring bassist and vocalist Mike Watt (most widely known for his use the Minutemen as well as the Stooges), guitarist Nels Cline (of Wilco, the Geraldine Fibbers, as well as the Nels Cline Singers), guitarist and singer Nick Reinhart (through the music group Tere Melos), and drummer Greg Saunier (of Deerhoof). The 1st glimmers from the task arrived when Watt toured with Tere Melos in Japan in 2008, as well as the guitarist and bassist talked about making an record jointly. When Reinhart asked Watt about dealing with Nels Cline, who performed lead electric guitar on Watt’s 1997 “punk opera” Contemplating the Engine Area, Watt suggested the ultimate way to find out about him was to create music with him, and Cline shortly recognized their invitation to become listed on the task. Cline suggested that Reinhart pick the drummer for the periods, and he and Watt had been glad when he recommended Greg Saunier, a preferred of both music artists. While Watt composed a batch of music for the task, and Cline and Saunier each added a tune, the multiple commitments from the music artists meant which the quartet associates weren’t in a position to go in to the studio room together before summer months of 2014, if they congregated at Studio room G in Brooklyn, NY with Tony Maimone (previously of Pere Ubu) as engineer. The music artists recorded their monitors in three times, and following the reality, Reinhart and Watt cut their lead vocals utilizing their home-recording setups. IN-MAY 2017, the self-titled debut Big Walnuts Yonder premiered by Sargent Home Records.
