Biography
The five men and three women from the Oregon-based Balafon Marimba Outfit have a high energy, multilayered, method of the music of Africa as well as the Caribbean. Performing on home-made musical instruments, the group roars using a highly-percussive strength. While nearly 1 / 2 of their materials originates from Zimbabwe, the ensemble’s repertoire contains music from Zaire, Latin America as well as the Caribbean. The Balafon Marimba Outfit was shaped in 1981 throughout a course at Oregon Condition College or university.
