Zebradonk

Toronto-based group Zebradonk plays an eclectic mixture of globe music and jazz, with an extra dose of humor. Drummer Shawn Abedin; trumpeter and bassist Alfons Dread, and Brodie Western, who takes on alto, melodica, and percussion, arrived together in-may 1998 and started carrying out around Toronto. The music artists had played from Cuban music to acidity jazz to free of charge jazz ahead of forming Zebradonk. Seriously affected by Dutch improvisers like Clusone Trio, the daring group has truly gone on to use Clusone’s drummer, Han Bennink, aswell as another well-known (and wacky) musician, Eugene Chadbourne, furthermore to collaborating with Godspeed You Dark Emperor! as well as the Woodchopper’s Association. Following the launch of Zebradonk’s self-titled debut recording in 1999, the group journeyed European countries and toured Canada.
