Seattle punk trio In the Backbone has been in comparison to a variety of rings (including Fugazi, the Pixies, Hüsker Dü, and Guided by Voices, amongst others), but insists that although it might have many affects, it generally does not make an effort to imitate them. After stints like a guitarist for the Plains and Little bit Component, founding Global Seepej Information, and liberating his solo recording, Mock Democracy, in 2000, Mike Toschi (acoustic guitar, vocals) formed In the Backbone with drummer Chris Croft and bassist Richie Parish. The group’s 1st recording, The Curriculum Is definitely Never Neutral, premiered in 2003. In the Backbone soon obtained a reputation within the Seattle region for their effective lyrics, which alternated between socio-political commentary and musings on everyday activity. After liberating First Day time of Springtime in 2005, the group adopted up with Sonic Level of resistance in 2007.
