Al Gay

b. 25 Feb 1928, London, Britain. After formal research in clarinet and saxophones on the Guildhall College of Music, Homosexual worked in a variety of dance bands through the middle- and past due 40s. In 1953 he became a member of the Freddy Randall music group and, after departing three years afterwards, he remained highly connected with the original jazz scene, using rings led by Joe Daniels, Harry Silver and Bob Wallis. In the first 60s Homosexual joined up with Alex Welsh’s music group, where he continued to be for nearly five years, coming back in 1977 for an additional six years. Among these stints, and on in to the 80s, Homosexual freelanced, employed in radio so that as accompanist to varied visiting jazz performers. In the past due 80s and 90s Homosexual could be noticed leading his very own band and in addition playing with groupings like the Pizza Express All Superstars.
