Hawthorne Headhunters

The smooth neo-soul/R&B collective Hawthorne Headhunters was spearheaded simply by Dark Spade (aka Stoney Rock) in 2007. After shifting from St. Louis to LA, the rapper/maker discovered a common relationship in fellow suppliers and St. Louis natives Proh Mic and I, Ced. The three began recording together, getting on vocalist Coultrain, and naming the group when i, Ced’s home foundation in Hawthorne, California. Nevertheless, immediately after the Hawthorne Headhunters’ debut EP was completed, Proh Mic and I, Ced made a decision to depart the group and pursue single professions. The Hawthorne Headhunters EP premiered on HVW8 Information in ’09 2009, and Coultrain and Dark Spade continuing on being a rap and vocal duo, eventually documenting a 14-monitor album titled Many Now, that was released on Plug Analysis in 2012.
