Konstantin Julius Becker

Becker studied performing with Anacker and structure with Karl Ferdinand Becker. From 1837-46 he was the editor of =Neue Zeitschrift für Musik.= He also trained music in Dresden and composed novels concerning modern musical problems. His compositions consist of an opera, =Die Erstürmung von Belgrad= (1848), a symphony, a rhapsody and many music and duets. Furthermore, he published many manuscripts, including a translation of Berlioz’s =Voyage Musical= (1843).
