Hata Motohiro

Though beginning his profession like a punk rock and roll soloist, Hata Motohiro quickly carved out a location for himself with an earthy, relatively acoustic sound and a singer/songwriter aesthetic — without terribly unusual in japan “indie” marketplace, something of the rarity for success in the sugary and overwhelming J-pop industry. Even though many of Motohiro’s compositions have been around in a predictable format, his affects (Elephant Kashimashi, Mr. Kids) are so far heard to a fairly limited extent in his developing sound. A lot of Motohiro’s differentiation originates from his vocal capabilities — still creating a personal sound, his vocals (criticized as relatively scratchy by some in the J-pop market) have tested successful provided their even more “genuine” aspects, providing a little more psychological punch than a great many other performers. At exactly the same time, he dabbles in even more saccharine falsettos and traditional anime theme music and its own ilk. As his pursuing grew on the effectiveness of several singles, 2007 noticed Motohiro’s first complete album, Contrast, succeed and lead the best way to a massively well-known mainstream solitary in 2008’s “Niji Ga Kieta Hi there.”
