Zehira Darabid, referred to as Zaho, can be an Algerian-born pop-R&B vocalist, songwriter, and arranger who broke through in 2008. Created in Oran, Algeria, she was raised in the suburb of Bab Ezzouar but shifted with her family members to Montreal, Quebec, Canada at age group 18. Her early credits consist of appearances on tracks by French rappers La Fouine (“Basta,” 2005), Sefyu (“Un Stage C Tout,” 2006), Soprano (“Hey Papi,” 2006), Don Choa (“Lune de Miel,” 2007), Tunisiano (“Citoyen du Monde,” 2007), Kery Wayne (“Je M’Écris,” 2008), and Kamelancien (“Quand Ils Vont Partir,” 2008). She also collaborated with Algerian performers including Cheb Mami (“Halili,” 2006) and Idir (“Tout Ce Temps,” 2007).
