Queen Mab

Queen Mab began like a Canadian piano and clarinet duo in the mid-’90s, being successful rave reviews for his or her blending of improvisation and structure with affects from both jazz and classical music. The duo originally contains Toronto pianist Marilyn Lerner, who got also led a few albums of her personal and collaborated with different well-known jazz music artists (including Steve Lacy, Jane Bunnett, Paul Plimley, and Paquito d’Rivera), and Lori Freedman, a Winnipeg-based award-winning clarinetist who got made guest looks with several Canadian orchestras, been involved with electro-acoustic music, and performed on over 15 recordings, including her personal solo launch, Huskless. Queen Mab’s 1st recording, Barbie’s Additional Shoe, arrived in 1997 on multi-instrumentalist Vinny Golia’s Ninewinds label. It had been followed a couple of years afterwards by Close, released on another unbiased West Coastline avant-garde music label, Spool.
