Tapia Et Leturia Band

The tikitixa music from the Basque region of Spain continues to be introduced to folk festival audiences around the world by diatonic accordion player and vocalist Josepa Tapia, tambourine player Xavier Leturia, and their music group, the Tapia et Leturia Music group. Initially conference as members of the rock-band, Tapia and Leturia proved helpful being a duo before growing their group with extra music artists and dancers. Their debut recording, Quebec, released in 1999, presented instrumental support by violinist Arkaitz Miner, bassist Ritxi Salaberria, and guitarist Pascal Gaigne. By 2001, the Tapia et Leturia Music group presented acoustic guitarist Mixel Ducau and dancers Josema Mendiola, Miren Genua, and Patxi Perez. Tapia collaborated with Kaldo Izagirre to record an recording, Apoaren Edertasuna, in 1998.
