Among the initial South African performers to break to the international stage, Yvonne Chaka Chaka (given birth to: Yvonne Mhinga) is constantly on the attract interest with her infectious pop melodies, youth-minded lyrics (mostly in British), and girlish appeal. Although she’s yet to come back from a self-imposed hiatus to improve her four kids, the planet eagerly waits to get a comeback from the “princess from Africa.” With her effective alto tone of voice, Chaka Chaka helped to carefully turn bubblegum disco into South Africa’s prominent dance music from the 1980s and early ’90s. Dealing with manufacturer Sello “Chicco” Twala, she implemented her 1984 strike debut one, “I’m DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH a D.J.,” using a string of yellow metal and platinum strikes.
