Wackie’s Rhythm Force

Through the early ’80s, dub producer Lloyd “Bullwackie” Barnes preserved a busy studio within the Bronx, where he created a big ensemble of reggae vocalists and released the music on his Wackies label. The vocalists Barnes (whose nickname is certainly Bullwackie) caused consist of such luminaries as Horace Andy, Wayne Jarrett, and Junior Delahaye in addition to others: Like Joys, Naggo Morris, Meditations, Stranger Cole, Sugars Minott, Clive Field Marshall, and Leroy Sibbles. This loose collective is becoming referred to as the Wackies. The Berlin-based Fundamental Channel label, popular because of its dub-techno recordings, reissued an abundance of Wackies recordings in the first 2000s.
