DIY punk-pop trio the Violents shaped in the faculty city of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in 2001, motivated by famous brands Bratmobile, Group Dresch, Bikini Get rid of and undoubtedly Sleater-Kinney. Guitarist Aimee Rickman, bassist Anni Poppen and drummer Sally Mundy (Rickman and Poppen both sing and create lyrics) authorized to Mud Information, the punk-oriented imprint of regional indie powerhouse Parasol Information, and released their debut record, Rebecca’s Morning Tone of voice, in Sept of 2002.
