Rock & move rings never really appear to pass away. Their essence simply gets resuscitated and reincarnated into brand-new forms and buildings. Such may be the case with Baltimore, MD’s the Scott Farkus Affair. This quintet includes former associates of some very good Baltimore-area rings (Butch, 7 Mississippi). As SFA, Michael Sheppard, Michael Hilton, Joseph Novak, Joseph Haberstich, and Joseph Becker quickly obtained the acceptance of region music critics using their adrenaline-fueled and intelligently built post-punk rock and roll. Sorrows Figure out how to Swim, their enragingly moody debut on AmBiguous Town! Records, was documented in manufacturer Drew Mazurek’s cellar and released in middle-1998. The music group also made an appearance on AmBiguous Town!’s compilation disk, The Urban Advancement Series, Vol. 3, with labelmates MovieGoer.
