The Scotsmen

From Minnesota, the Scotsmen produced one obscure novelty single, “Beer Bust Blues,” in 1965. An average frat rock agreement supported a gravelly-voiced, certainly wrestler-voiced vocalist with sound files of a beverage can being opened up and poured. The flipside was an instrumental offering body organ and what sounded like artificially sped-up guitar lines. Both edges, and a few outtakes, had been issued over the Scotty Tale compilation of Warren Kendrick productions. Jim Kane, who performed bass using the Scotsmen (a studio-only group), would continue to play using the Litter, perhaps one of the most observed 1960s bands within the Minneapolis region. The one, forgettable in and of itself, do serve the goal of providing a chance for Warren Kendrick to get into the record business. Kendrick created and composed both edges with close friends of his from Minnetonka SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, and released it by himself label, Scotty. Through the entire remaining ’60s, Kendrick continuing to are a regional manufacturer and songwriter, especially with garage rings the Electras as well as the Litter, issuing his productions by himself brands.
