Ney Conceição

Ney Conceição, a self-taught musician, moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1996 after many years of working in the neighborhood scene from the Amazon. In Rio, he continues to be participating like a program man on many records by mentioned Brazilian instrumentalists and performers. His role in the recording from the soundtrack for the film Amazonian Legends was recognized by the composer Sebastião Tapajós, with whom Conceição performs frequently. Conceição toured Spain (from 1997 to 2000), Argentina (in 1999), and participated in the 2001 Montreux Jazz Event (Switzerland). Having performed in East European countries (Russia and Bulgaria) and Scandinavia (some towns in Norway and north of Germany), he also participated in the 1999 Latino Arts Event in the Queens Theatre, NY, NY. Conceição also participated on the percussion celebration Party from the Tempo in Aveiro (Portugal) with Robertinho Silva, a musician with whom he in addition has shared a Compact disc.
