Named after a favorite make of synthetic home-siding, Detroit lo-fi garage area rockers Tyvek began getting recognition in 2008 alongside fellow noise poppers Vivian Ladies, Instances New Viking, and Eat Skull. The group was founded by songwriter/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Kevin Boyer, that has been the just constant person in the group. After documenting a variety of singles and 7″s for labels X, What’s Your Rupture?, M’Lady’s Information, S-S, and Sub Pop, the music group took a calendar year to record its initial full-length, that was planned for discharge on Siltbreeze in the springtime of 2009. The album’s discharge time was postponed for undisclosed factors and the music group underwent a name transformation (most likely pressured with the risk of copyright infringement from Dupont), switching to TVK, Tijvek, and Tvyek before eventually keeping Tyvek. The music group ramped up this year 2010, launching the demonstration LP Skyin, and its own first record for In debt, Nothing Matches. An album documented at Third Guy Information in Nashville premiered in early 2011 within the label’s Third Guy Live series. In 2012 the music group adopted up with another monument to lo-fi, On Triple Beams. Pursuing many limited cassettes on Boyer’s Doubles Tapes label, Tyvek came back to In debt in 2016 using the full-length Source of What.
