The Lumineers

The Lumineers, a folk-rock trio out of Denver, Colorado, deliver an acoustic-based Americana sound that touches a whole lot of stylistic bases, from folk to gospel to heartland rock as well as the narrative end of country, all with interesting rhythmic twists and turns. The music group had its origins in 2002 when Jeremiah Fraites dropped his 19-year-old sibling Josh to a medication overdose. Fraites and his brother’s closest friend, Wesley Schultz, considered music to cope with their sorrow, and had been soon writing tunes and gigging collectively in the brand new York area like a duo. After relocating to Denver, the set met classically qualified multi-instrumentalist Neyla Pekarek after putting a craigslist advertisement for any cellist, and points clicked for the trio, who started playing open-mike evenings in the Meadowlark — a cellar club where regional songwriters collected. The music group released a demonstration EP in ’09 2009, pursuing it with an eponymous EP in 2011. An effective first album, once again simply known as The Lumineers, made an appearance from Dualtone Information in 2012. The record was critically praised and its own infectious one “Ho Hey,” which got always been the centerpiece from the band’s live models, finished up breaking into TOP markets globally, ultimately going dual platinum. The Lumineers crossed and recrossed the world because they toured to get their debut, getting a set of Grammy nominations on the way. With their elevated profile, they started branching out in 2014, putting a tune on AMC’s well-known zombie series The Strolling Dead and providing the music for the tune “The Dangling Tree,” the musical centerpiece from the film The Craving for food Video games: Mockingjay, Pt. 1. In Apr 2016, the Lumineers released their long-awaited follow-up record, Cleopatra. It debuted at number 1 for the Billboard 200. In 2017, furthermore to starting for U2’s Joshua Tree wedding anniversary tour, the music group released the Record Shop Day single Tune Seeds, which highlighted three variations of two tracks entirely on Cleopatra.
