The Dixie Blues Boys

The mysterious Dixie Blues Boys had only one, “Monte Carlo”/”My Baby Left Town,” which appeared on the present day Information subsidiary Flair in 1955. Although their name got led some to trust they were documenting in the South, study eventually revealed the tracks were completed in LA, where Contemporary was centered. The four people who authorized the agreement with Modern had been Charles S. Johnson, Ozie Saxton, Dan Winston, and Clarence Wilkins, although there have been more musicians to become heard within the record. The solitary sides were uncommon for offering two harmonicas within the first down-home electrical blues format, and had been solid if unexceptional shows, “My Baby Remaining Town” being truly a shuffle and “Monte Carlo” a slower quantity reminiscent of a few of Sonny Boy Williamson’s function. Both tracks had been reissued within the 2004 compilation Compact disc Contemporary Downhome Blues, Vol. 3: Memphis On Down, plus a trim (“Dixie Blues Boy Boogie”) that acquired first appeared on the 1999 Compact disc compilation; the previously unissued “I WANT TO GO BACK HOME Whiskey”; and a previously unreleased edition of “Monte Carlo.”
