The Boxcars

The Boxcars certainly are a bluegrass outfit whose collective pedigree includes former associates of Lonesome River Music group, Union Place, Blue Moon Rising, and J.D. Crowe, amongst others. Produced in past due 2009 by mandolinist Adam Steffey, guitarist Keith Garrett, banjoist Ron Stewart, bassist Harold Nixon, and fiddler John Bowman, the five veterans’ seasoned existence was immediately obvious on the self-titled 2010 debut. Increasing quickly, these were called both Instrumental Band of the entire year and Emerging Musician of the entire year on the 2011 International Bluegrass Music Honours (IBMA). Documenting for North Carolinian label Hill Home Music Firm, the Boxcars implemented up in 2012 with All In, which reached amount 12 on Billboard’s bluegrass graph. Their third record, It’s Only a Road, found its way to 2013 and gained them their initial Grammy nomination. The next year noticed a lineup transformation as John Bowman still left the group to go after a profession preaching and executing in churches. He was changed with a newcomer, Dobroist Gary Hultman, who produced his debut on the 4th LP, 2016’s Acquainted with the Ground.
