The Bop Chords

Harlem’s the Bop Chords produced in 1955 in the same building where in fact the Ladders, Stations, and Willows got their begin. Lead vocalist Ernest Harriston, William Dailey, Ken Hamilton, Leon Ivey, and Morris Smarr acquired all sung with various other neighborhood groupings, and Hamilton acquired recorded using the Five Wings previous in the entire year on the tribute to Johnny Ace that was released by Ruler. The Bop Chords documented for Visit to 1956, as well as the mid-tempo “Castle in the Sky” was an area and regional strike. Their second one, “WHILE I Woke Up TODAY,” also do well over the East Coastline, but inner clashes over melody content and closet soon triggered lineup defections and adjustments. Dailey and Smarr still left and were changed by Neglect Boyd and Peggy Jones, their initial feminine vocalist. They documented “Why” in 1957, after that disbanded. Harriston do history vocals for Shep & the Limelites and documented “WE ARE IN NEED OF Like” for Asnes in 1962 as Ernie Johnson. A fresh edition from the Bop Chords resurfaced in 1971, with business lead vocalist Johnson, Hamilton, Boyd, and Ivey. They hardly ever recorded, but had been a popular appeal at various NY places and oldies displays in the ’70s.
