The Balustrade Ensemble

San Francisco-based indie pop music group the Balustrade Outfit were shaped by songwriter/guitarist Give Miller (of Mandible Chatter), arranger/engineer Scott Solter (Tarentel, Charles Atlas, Boxharp, Hill Goats, John Vanderslice, Design Is Movement), and singer Wendy Allen (Boxharp). As well as the three principals, visitor musicians include key pad participant Matt Henry Cunitz, pedal metal guitarist Ryan Rosenberg, pianist Liam Vocalist, and cellist High Vaughan. Borrowing a term from technology fiction books that identifies Victorian fantasies about the near future by such authors as Jules Verne, “steampunk” (coined like a comparison to “cyberpunk”), the users from the Balustrade Outfit explained their ethereal music as “steampunk-ambient.” The 1st recorded exemplory case of that emerged when they agreed upon to the neighborhood Dynamophone Information label and released their debut record, Tablets, on November 5, 2007, with an internationally release organized for Might 13, 2008.
