Solea

Although indie rock quartet Solea’s self-titled debut had not been released until 2005, the impetus for the band extended completely back again to a Western european tour in the summertime of 1996 between a favorite first-generation emo band, Tx ‘s the reason, as well as the long-running pop-punk act Samiam. The principal performers and songwriters of every music group, Samiam’s Sergie Loobkoff and Tx May be the Reason’s Garrett Klahn, bonded during the period of this comprehensive haul and started writing songs jointly on their distributed tour bus, fleshing them out during sound investigations. Following the tour finished, the pair held in contact, but their particular professional commitments held the task from moving very much at night idea stage. Actually after Texas ‘s the reason split in 1997, Klahn continued to create a short-lived fresh music group, the New Increasing Sons, while Loobkoff spent his free time in his hobby music group, Knapsack. At loose leads to 2001, Loobkoff and Klahn discovered themselves without rings at exactly the same time and created Solea, inexplicably called after a track by Kilometers Davis. Challenging by the actual fact that Loobkoff and drummer Johnny Cruz (also previously of Samiam) resided in LA and Klahn and bassist Niko Georgiadis resided in Buffalo, NY, Solea’s 1st songs were created and demoed with the email before being documented at previous Pavement drummer Gary Young’s studio room in Stockton, CA, in early 2002. Those tunes, available with the band’s site and on a self-released demonstration, led to another EP, Actually Stranger, in 2003. Throughout a volatile tour advertising Actually Stranger, Georgiadis and Cruz remaining the music group, changed by bassist Joseph Orlando and drummer Scott McPherson (previously of Feeling Field). This lineup from the music group wrote and documented their self-titled full-length debut, released in Japan in early 2004 and in america within the Textbook Music label in Oct 2005. Solea’s second recording, Finally WE HAVE BEEN Nowhere, was planned for launch in Dec 2006, pursuing Loobkoff’s short-term diversion having a reunited Samiam.
