Slough Feg

After a decade and four albums released beneath the mouthful of the name which was the Lord Strange Slough Feg, San Francisco’s cutting-edge revisionist rock band led by vocalist/guitarist Mike Scalzi shortened their moniker to merely Slough Feg prior to the release of the fifth studio album, Atavism, in 2005. At that time, the group also contains longtime guitarist John Cobbett (a regular Scalzi collaborator, especially with cult prog steel ensemble Hammers of Misfortune) and drummer Greg Haa, but both would shortly depart in the band, leaving just newer addition bassist Adrian Maestas set up for Slough Feg’s following LP, the typically idiosyncratic, research fiction-inspired Hardworlder. This brought brand-new six-stringer Angelo Tringali and drummer Antoine Reuben in to the fold, however the latter will be changed by Harry Cantwell with the documenting of 2009’s Ape Uprising!, which thematically meshed the prehistoric/futuristic designs of the last two albums, and probably bettered them both with regards to quality songwriting. The Profound Lore-issued Pet Spirits found its way to 2010, accompanied by Digital Level of resistance in 2014.
