Slaraffenland

Slaraffenland (pronounced sluh-raf’-in-lund and meaning “property of dairy and honey” in British) is really a Danish experimental rock and roll group formed in Copenhagen in 2002 by identical twins Christian Taagehøj and Mike Taagehøj, Bjørn Heebøll, Niklas Antonsson, and Jeppe Skjold. They created their very own label, Honningmand, release a their self-titled debut recording in 2004. In 2005, they adopted it with an EP, Jinkatawa, and some months later on journeyed to NY, where they performed night clubs including CBGB’s. That drew the eye of American label Hometapes, which authorized the group in 2006, and Slaraffenland came back for a display in the CMJ Music Marathon on November 1 and in addition appeared in the SXSW music meeting in March 2007. They released their second recording, Private Movie theater, on Hometapes on June 26, 2007.
