More a task when compared to a traditional music group, Sistema Bomb was formed by Bay Area-based maker Héctor Pérez in order to modernize the regional Mexican music dubbed Son Jarocho. After becoming introduced towards the style from the Los Lobos track “La Guacamaya,” Pérez thought incorporating hip-hop noises and styles in to the music, combined with the punk and rock and roll elements that functions like Ozomatli and Zack de la Rocha experienced previously injected in to the genre. While dealing with the group Los Cojolites on the recording Sembrando Flores, he fulfilled maker and label owner Greg Landau, who officially co-founded Sistema Bomb in 2011. Documenting sessions with users of Los Cojolites, Ozomatli, and Maldita Vecindad adopted, and in Apr of 2012, Landau’s label Circular Whirled released Electro-Jarocho, the project’s debut. The recording was nominated for any 2013 Grammy beneath the category of Greatest Latin Rock and roll, Urban or Alternate Album.
