Scott August

Indigenous American flute player Scott August was created in LA, CA, and elevated in Fullerton, CA. He was the boy, grandson, and great-grandson of music artists. He used the cello at age group seven, later understanding how to play the kalimba as well as the piano. He graduated through the College or university of Southern California using a Bachelor of Music level. He began producing his very own recordings while in university, initially distributing them as cassettes and pressing up an LP, and his music received airplay on such r / c as KCRW and KXLU in LA and WNYC in NY. At the recommendation of Brian Eno, who discovered his music visible, August auditioned for advertisement firms, and his function began to end up being heard in advertisements aswell as on tv and in movies. In 1996, August uncovered Local American flute music, and he obtained his 1st flute in 1998. On his Cedar Mesa Music label, he released the albums Distant Spirits (2001), Sacred Dreams (2003; champion of a Local American Music Honor), and New Open fire (2005; winner from the Indian Summer time Music Honor), and a Dvd and blu-ray, Old Light (2007), where excerpts from his CDs (and one fresh track) followed 450 photographs he previously used the American Southwest. He released his 4th album, Misplaced Canyons, on January 29, 2008.
